Celtic punk rockers Dropkick Murphys emerged in 1996 from Quincy, Massachusetts. The group rapidly gained widespread exposure and a loyal fanbase through their relentless touring schedule and annual St. Patrick’s Day week shows held in the greater Boston, MA area, eventually achieving mainstream success in 2004 with the release of their hit single “Tessie.” The following year saw the release of their fifth studio album The Warrior’s Code which housed the massive hit single “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.” The song went on to be featured in the 2006 Academy Award-winning movie The Departed and would go on to become their only platinum-selling single to date. Dropkick Murphys are know for the lively stage presence and energetic performances. They have released a total of nine studio albums, several of which have debuted within the Top 20 of the Billboard 200.
