His solo career officially took flight in 1986, but Sting saw the peak of his success as a solo artist in the 1990's. During this time, he released multiple albums that went platinum and won a Grammy for the famous hit song 'All This Time'. He collaborated with a number of different esteemed musicians, including Rod Stewart, Tina Turner, and Bryan Adams. In 2006, The Police reunited and went on tour, successfully launching the band as one of the highest earning groups ever to play.
Regardless of all of the prestige and fame associated with his career as a musician, Sting is well known for his interest in human rights, using his earnings to help areas of the world in need through charitable contributions and campaigns. He has been a profound leader and inspiration among human rights activists worldwide. Sting continues to write and perform music today, and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
