Barenaked Ladies Last Summer on Earth Tour 2020

Barenaked Ladies are bringing their Last Summer on Earth trek back this year for its sixth edition, this time alongside Gin Blossoms and Toad the Wet Sprocket!

The 34-date tour kicks off June 3 in Saint Augustine, FL and will see the rockers hit the stage in cities including Houston, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, and Philadelphia before wrapping up with a final performance in Toronto on July 23.

Last summer, the band took a break from ending the world, instead touring alongside Hootie & the Blowfish on their US tour.

“Yeah, we got a brief respite from the doomsday predictions of Barenaked Ladies, the most negative band on earth,” singer-guitarist Ed Robertson said with a laugh in a recent interview.

“I loved not having the responsibility of the night on our shoulders and getting to just go out and rock for one hour and play a hit-packed set and no pressure – and then at the same time I missed not having the weight of the show on my shoulders and not having extra time to stretch out and play more songs. I certainly loved the (2019) tour, but we love doing this, too.”

Who are Barenaked Ladies?

Canadian rockers Barenaked Ladies formed in 1988, quickly developing a cult following in Canada with the release of their self-titled 1991 cassette. It became the first independent release to ever be certified gold in the country. In 1992, the Barenaked Ladies released their studio debut album, Gordon, which housed two of their best-known hit tracks, “If I Had $1000000” and “Brian Wilson.” To date, the band has released a total of 15 studio albums, including 1998’s Stunt which was their most successful album and featured their breakthrough mega-hit single “One Week.”

Over time, Barenaked Ladies’ sound has evolved to incorporate elements of a variety of genres including pop, rock, hip hop, rap, and more, although they are most commonly billed as alternative rock. Barenaked Lades are known for their live performances, highlighted by the comedic banter and free-style rapping between songs. They have sold over 15 million albums worldwide and have been Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees since 2018.
