Loosely inspired by William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Amaluna takes place on a mysterious island governed by goddesses. After a violent storm brings a group of men ashore, a romantic relationship ensues between one of the island’s newest inhabitants and the daughter of Queen Prospera, triggering an epic love story that faces incredible odds. Amaluna debuted in Montreal, Quebec in 2012. The title is a combination of two words: “Ama” which refers to mother in several languages, and “luna” which means moon (which is also a symbol of femininity). Sit back as the cast dazzles you with fascinating displays of acrobatics, aerial performances and much more.
