Comedian, actor, and writer Chevy Chase first captured audiences' attention acting with National Lampoon, eventually becoming a key cast member on Saturday Night Live where his recurring segment Weekend Update became a staple of the show. His work as both an actor and writer earned Chase three Prime-time Emmy Awards out of a total of five nominations. Aside from a wildly successful career in television, Chase also starred in several box office hits including
Foul Play, five
National Lampoon's Vacation,
Caddyshack, and
Three Amigos (to name just a few). He has earned two Golden Globe Awards and hosted the Academy Awards twice. Most recently, Chase played the character of Pierce Hawthorne on the NBC comedy series
Community from 2009 to 2014.
