Motion City Soundtrack is an American pop/rock band with electronic style infulences from Minneapolis, Minnesota, formed in 1997. The band is made up of founding members Justin Pierre (lead vocals and guitar) and Joshua Cain (lead guitar and backing vocals), along with keyboardist and moog synthesist Jesse Johnson, bassist and backup vocalist Matthew Taylor, and drummer, percussionist and back up vocalist Claudio Rivera. Motion City Soundtrack has been proficient in releasing five studio albums and has sold almost 600,000 records throughout their career, over half a million of which were sold in the United States alone. The band is well known for its catchy melodies, and eccentric style of front man Justin Pierre, who has gained recognition not only from his creative and successful song writing, but his wild hair and unique voice as well.
