Jack White 2018 Tour Supports New Album

12-time Grammy award winner Jack White.

Jack White, 12-time Grammy Award winner and former lead singer/guitarist of duo The White Stripes (1997-2011) has announced his first solo tour in almost four years.

The tour, in support of his solo album, Boarding House Reach (to be released on Mar 23), kicks off in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena on April 19. The tour continues through Aug 24 in Las Vegas, as well as the previously announced festival headline performances at Shaky Knees (May 4-6), Boston Calling (May 25-27), and Governors Ball (June 1-3).

Jack White, once called “…the Coolest, Weirdest, Savviest Rock Star of Our Time” by Josh Ellis of the New York Times in a 2012 feature article, used to be exclusively a rock star. Now, his interests are more diverse. His record company, Third Man Records, based in Nashville and Detroit, produces and sells vinyl records. It carries over 400 titles including old blues songs and local garage bands as well as some of his originals.

White’s Lazaretto, a Third Man record from 2014, sold forty thousand copies in one week, more than any other record since 1991 when Nielsen SoundScan began tracking vinyl sales.

About Jack White:

Both of Jack White’s solo albums have reached number one on the Billboard charts. Rolling Stone ranked him number 70 on its 2010 list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."

White has also tried his hand at acting, appearing in the 2003 film, Cold Mountain. He also performed five songs for the movie’s soundtrack: "Sittin' on Top of the World", "Wayfaring Stranger", "Never Far Away", "Christmas Time Soon Will Be Over", and "Great High Mountain."

White also played Elvis Presley in the 2007 satire Walk Hard.

He was also a special guest star on ABC's The Muppets, singing "You Are the Sunshine of My Life", which was later released on vinyl.
