Also known as Marina and the Diamonds or Marina Diamondis, Marina stepped into the spotlight in 2009 after finishing in second place in the BBC’s Sound of 2010. Her studio debut The Family Jewels followed later that same year, drawing on elements of indie pop and new wave. The album landed Marina her first spot on the UK Albums Chart, entering in at the number five spot and earning a gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry. She has since released two additional studio albums including Electra Heart (2012), and Froot (2015), both of which have debuted within the Top 10 on the UK Albums Chart, with the latter serving as her first breakthrough on the US Billboard 200 at number eight. Marina has cited Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears, and The Distillers’ frontwoman Brody Dalle as major musical influences. Her fourth studio album Love + Fear was released in April 2019.
