She parted ways with the band in early 2010 in pursuit of an academic career, and three years later, returned to the music scene as a solo artist. Sunmi released her debut EP Full Moon in 2014, spawning the hit single “24 Hours.” The track hit the number two spot on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. One year later, she reunited with the Wonder Girls, remaining with them until their disbandment in 2017. Her second solo EP, Warning, followed in 2018, producing hit singles “Gashina,” Heroine,” and “Siren.”
