Meet Gypsy - The Musical Show
Gypsy made its debut on Broadway in 1959 and was adapted to film in 1962. Almost a decade later, it made a West End debut and started to resurface in Manhattan shortly afterwards. Several revivals and a US television debut kept the great American musical alive. The stage performance was loosely based on the vaudeville era and memoirs of the famous striptease artist, Gypsy Rose Lee and her ultimate show business mom, Rose. The musical received a Tony Award in 1989 for ‘Best Revival’.
