Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band formed in 2002 that achieved immediate success in Britain with the release of their debut studio album, “Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not.” The 2006 release became the fastest-selling debut album by a band in British chart history, and Rolling Stone named it the 30th-greatest debut album of all time. Since then, Arctic Monkeys have released a total of four albums that helped extend their success internationally, due largely in part to the Internet. The band is heralded as one of the first to garner public attention via online streaming. Arctic Monkeys have won a total of six Brit Awards and were nominated for three Grammy Awards.
