Stewart Theatre is a beloved venue located on the second floor of the Talley Student Center at North Carolina State University. Since 1978, it has been a part of the Raleigh cultural landscape and provides an amazing space for music, dance, and theater events. It features local and international musical acts, popular touring productions, and university student productions. Dance Raleigh is held annually at the theatre, offering modern and contemporary dance performances from across America. With its 441-seat auditorium and raised stage platform, it offers excellent sightlines from every seat in the house. Don't miss out on this incredible venue! Stewart Theatre is located on the second floor of the Talley Student Center on North Carolina State University's campus. The theatre seats 800. It is operated by staff with University Theatre and has offices on the first floor of Talley at 1202A. The theatre is used by campus organizations and student groups. It is available for rental use by outside organizations on a limited basis.

The Stewart Theater opened on June 22, 1949, as a first-run movie house. After it closed its doors on January 29, 1987, the building sat vacant until its renovation in early 1994 when it became home to a community theatre group, Harnett Regional Theatre.
