Meet Q-tip


Rapper, record producer, singer, actor, and DJ Q-Tip emerged in the late 1980s as an MC, going on to become the main producer of the influential alternative hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest. By the mid-1990s, Q-Tip had co-founded the production team The Ummah, going on to release his solo debut album Amplified, which earned a gold certification from the RIAA. In the 2000s, he released his Grammy-nominated album The Renaissance and the experimental album Akamaal the Abstract. Q-Tip has enjoyed a successful career as an actor, appearing in various films icluding Poetic Jusitice, She Hate Me, and Prison Song, the latter of which he co-wrote. He is one of the most influential and acclaimed figures in hip-hop.
