The Ottawa Senators compete in the Northeast Division of the National Hockey League. The franchise was established in 1992 which makes it one of the newer ones in the league. But just because the Senators have not been around for a long time does not mean that they cannot hold their own. In a relatively short period of time they have done a great job in moving up the ranks in a hurry.

The Senators play their home games at Canadian Tire Centre. Since opening in 1996, this venue has been praised by players, fans, and the media. The fans in particular like what this venue has to offer because of the great sightlines of the ice as well as plenty of room both in the seats and the concourses.

Several great players have suited up for the Senators. They include Alexei Yashin, Daniel, Alfredsson, Wade Redden, Radek Bonk and many more.

Canadian Tire Centre is located in Ottawa, Ontario in the country of Canada. Since opening its doors in 1996, this venue has been seen as one of the best in the entire country. For this reason, Canadian Tire Centre has played host to thousands of events over the past 10 years. Thanks to its modern look and amenities, this arena draws in a variety of different sporting events, shows, and concerts year in and year out. With all of this action, it is easy to see why so many people love what Canadian Tire Centre has to offer.

The Ottawa Senators of the NHL are the only full time tenant that calls Canadian Tire Centre home. In the past, the Ottawa Rebels of the NLL also used this venue to play its home games, but the franchise shut down in 2002.

One of the biggest drawing points of Canadian Tire Centre is the capacity. For a Senators game more than 19,000 people can pack into this arena. This makes for a great atmosphere for the home team, but a huge burden for any team that has to visit.

In addition to the NHL games that take place inside Scotiabank Place, there are many other events on a regular basis. In fact, the first event ever was a Bryan Adams concert on January 15, 1996. Other greats to perform in the arena include Celine Dion on a stop during her Let's Talk About Love Tour.

Although this arena is known as Canadian Tire Centre at this time, this has not always been the case. Upon opening, this venue was named The Palladium. Shortly thereafter it was renamed the Scotiabank Place, and it stayed this way until 2006.

As far as top notch venues in Canada are concerned, it does not get much better than Canadian Tire Centre.
