Belmont Park, a horse racing facility, is located in Elmont, New York, on Long Island. With a 1.5 mile track, this venue offers the largest dirt track in all of thoroughbred racing. As you can imagine, this distinction alone has made Belmont Park Raceway quite popular over the years.
Belmont Park opened for business in May of 1905. Although this is not the oldest horse racing track in the United States, it does have a long history with many great moments. Belmont Park hosts the Belmont Stakes each year. This is the third leg of the Triple Crown, and is one of the most anticipated races of the year.
When it comes down to it, Belmont Park is known as one of the most beautiful venues in the world. Additionally, this venue is often times referred to as one of the "best landscaped" sporting venues in the United States.
Although there are talks of expanding Belmont Park, it is safe to say that the basic set up of the venue is not going to change anytime soon. After all, it has worked out well for more than a century!
