Providence Medical Center Amphitheater - Bonner Springs, KS

Located in the Kansas City metropolitan area close to the Kansas Speedway, Providence Medical Center Amphitheater is known to locals as simply Sandstone, its original name. Open since 1984, the open-air venue has an 18,000-person capacity and includes a massive general admission lawn area perfect for blankets and lounging concertgoers. Providence remains one of the largest outdoor venues in the United States, welcoming a diverse range of acts including KISS, Dave Matthews Band and Tim McGraw.

The venue is a short drive from the interstate. Parking lots open two hours prior to concert time, while gates open one hour before show time. Most of the nearby hotels and restaurants can be found near the interstate, though a variety of vendors inside the recently renovated venue offer up barbecue, hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, sodas, beer, mixed drinks and more.

Guests are free to bring along a beach towel-sized blanket, up to one liter of water in a sealed bottle, and personal cameras (no detachable lenses) in addition to small purses, bags and drawstring backpacks.

Situated inside Wyandotte County Park, Providence Medical Center Amphitheater offers concertgoers a unique getaway outside the city. It’s close to plenty of hiking and horse trails, open lawns, a dog park, picnic shelters, boating and fishing.
