Danish experimental folk act Heilung was formed in 2014 by vocalist Kai Uwe Faust and multi-instrumentalist/studio engineer Christopher Juul. Heilung has self-described their music as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe." Their music is based on texts and artifacts of the Iron Age originated by the Northern European peoples of the Celtic and Viking Age. Much of their artistry and style are influenced by Celtic gods and goddesses. Heilung (a German word meaning "healing" in English) has released three studio albums to date, including Ofnir (2015), Lifa (2017), and Futha (2019).
