The all-new musical based on everyone’s favorite 1988 film is ready to hit the stage!
A pre-Broadway run of Beetlejuice - The Musical is slotted to take place at Washington D.C.’s National Theatre. Performances will kick off on October 14 and run through November 18 with an official opening set for November 4.
The newly announced full cast will include Tony nominee Kerry Butler ( Mean Girls ) as Barbara, Tony nominee Rob McClure (Honeymoon in Vegas) as Adam, Leslie Kritzer ( Something Rotten! ) as Delia, Adam Dannheisser (Oslo) as Charles, Jill Abramovitz ( Fiddler On The Roof ) as Maxine Dean, Danny Rutigliano (Holiday Inn) as Maxie Dean and Kelvin Moon Loh ( Spongebob Squarepants ) as Otho.
The full cast will join previously announced Tony nominee Alex Brightman in the title role and Sophia Anne Caruso as Lydia. Beetlejuice will be directed by Tony nominee Alex Timbers and will feature a score by composer Eddie Perfect and choreography by Connor Gallagher.
What Is Beetlejuice?
Beetlejuice tells the story of Barbara and Adam Maitland, a recently deceased couple attempting to navigate turbulent waters in the world of the afterlife when they discover their home has been taken over by an obnoxious family. Desperate to take back what’s theirs, they enlist the help of a sleazy spirit named Beetlejuice, who makes a living out of scaring the living. The all new musical is based on the classic 1988 Tim Burton film which starred Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis. Beetlejuice won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and three Saturn Awards for best Horror Film, Best Makeup and Best Support Actress (Sylvia Sydney). It has come to be known as a classic and is one of the most popular films to emerge from the 20th century.
