Art Garfunkel is an American musician from Queens, New York. Garfunkel showed talent from a very early age, and in first grade met a young man named Paul Simon, with whom he would later found the folk duo Simon & Garfunkel in 1963.
Garfunkel remained inconsistently active with Simon through the decades, and also released his own solo work. Garfunkel’s music has earned him a number of Grammy Awards and other accolades, and has been featured in dozens of films and television productions. He, along with Simon and a few others, defined the adult contemporary folk rock sound of the late seventies.
