Bruno Mars, Katy Perry Top Weekly Concerts

Pop stars led the way in terms of on sales this week, with Bruno Mars, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga lighting up the top three spots. On the softer side, Ed Sheeran and Roger Waters came in at fourth and fifth, respectively. Here’s the scoop on what the artists have been up to ­— and why fans are buying up their tickets.

Bruno Mars

The Bruno Mars 24K Magic Tour caught fans’ attention this week, propelling the artist into the number one slot. Kicking off July 15 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the tour winds throughout North America before wrapping up Nov. 11 in Las Vegas.

Just this week, Bruno Mars impressed music lovers at the Billboard Music Awards with a rendition of Versace on the Floor, broadcast live from his Amsterdam concert. He is currently traveling Europe for the current tour before returning home for the start of the U.S. tour.

Katy Perry

The Witness Tour is a hit among fans who are eager to see Katy Perry take the stage. Announced this month following a series of hints, 43 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada are now preparing to host the pop princess.

The Witness Tour begins Sept. 7 in Columbus Ohio and wraps up Feb. 5, 2018 in Vancouver, BC. This is Katy Perry’s first tour in more than two years, following the Prismatic World Tour, which took her throughout Europe and the U.S. in 2014 and 2015.

Lady Gaga

The Joanne World Tour, announced shortly after February’s Super Bowl, is getting fans all riled up. With North American shows scheduled from August through December, “little monsters” from throughout the U.S. and Canada are eating up their chance to see Gaga take the stage once again.

While the Joanne World Tour is intended to highlight her 2016 album, Joanne, it’s not the first time the artist has taken the road to promote the album. Following the Joanne release, Lady Gaga took on the Dive Bar Tour, which included three intimate shows at bars in New York, Nashville and Los Angeles.

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran took it easy for a bit, taking time for travel and social media-free life. That was near the start of 2016 — now, he is back in the spotlight once again. Now touring in Europe, Ed Sheeran is taking it stateside the end of June through October.

Ed Sheeran’s first show will be held June 29 in Kansas City at Sprint Center. After stops throughout the U.S. and Canada, he’ll wrap it up Oct. 7 in Nashville, Tenn.

Roger Waters

Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters is making the rounds. Coming in fifth this week, he’s proving the classics still have what it takes to top the charts. While known for Pink Floyd’s iconic albums, including The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, Roger Waters has made a name for himself as a solo musician.

His tour will begin May 26 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. From there, he’ll perform at a range of venues before wrapping it up Oct. 28 in Vancouver.
