The 1975

The 1975 have announced a handful of North America arena shows in support of their latest album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships!

The 5-date trek kicks off November 16th in Camden, NJ and will go on to include stops in Raleigh, Greenville, and New Orleans. A final performance in Broomfield, CO will wrap things up December 1.

The upcoming run of shows follows a busy couple of months for the british rockers, who spent much of the spring touring North America in support of A Brief Inquiry. The band will spend the rest of the summer and early fall touring throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships hit shelves in November 2018, marking the 1975’s third studio album and first release since 2016’s I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It. The band has shared plans to release their fourth LP, Notes On a Conditional Form sometime this year, though a release date has yet to be announced.

Who are the 1975?

The 1975 emerged in the early 2000s, formed by a group of high school friends. Initially starting out only as a cover band, the group eventually began experimenting with styles and writing their own original material. The result was a trademark sound that’s been described as falling somewhere between “hooky dance-rock and adult contemporary sophistication.” Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2013, showing off their artsy-pop aesthetic and showcasing frontman Matt Healy’s distinct vocal style. The album shot to the top of the charts on the strength of their massive hit single “Sex,” skyrocketing the 1975 to international stardom and securing a spot in the Top 30 on the Billboard 200. Their second album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, brought continued success four years later, hitting the number one spot in both the UK and US and featuring a more ambitious R&B influenced sound. In 2017, the 1975 took home the Brit Award for Best British Group, cementing their status as indie rock sensations. Their third studio album, A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, arrived in 2018. The album was met with almost universal praise from critics.
