Xfinity Theatre - Hartford, CT

Just outside of Hartford, Connecticut, is one of the more unique venues in the northeast. The Xfinity Theatre not only serves as an indoor theater during the winter months, but once the summer sun arrives, it opens to include a lawn, making it one of the largest open-air amphitheaters in the country with room for nearly 30,000 concertgoers.

The events held year-round at the Xfinity Theatre largely focus on national music acts including rock, pop and country genres, including the likes of OneRepublic, John Mayer and Florida Georgia Line. In 2009, pop superstar Beyoncé used the space to rehearse for her “I Am…” Tour, and comedian Dave Chappelle gave an infamous performance at the venue during the 2013 Funny or Die: Oddball Comedy Festival.

Due to its proximity to Hartford, there are numerous hotels and restaurants within a short drive. Visitors can arrive to the parking lots up to three hours before the gates open. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and carpool, if possible, to mitigate traffic entering the venue. Gates generally open 1.5 hours prior to showtime. Premier parking is available for an additional fee.

Concessions are available for purchase at each performance from several locations throughout the venue, include a Guy’s Burger Joint located onsite. Personal food is allowed through the gates if it’s in a 1-gallon zipper storage bag. Up to 1 gallon of water is also permitted in a factory-sealed bottle. Coolers, however, are not allowed. Attendees are required to pass through a security checkpoint, and items like large bags, video and audio recording devices, alcohol and large umbrellas are also prohibited.
