The San Antonio Spurs compete in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association. The team was founded in 1967, but did not become known as the Spurs until the 1973 season. But no matter what name the team has gone by, they have always competed with a high level of success. This is especially true as of late.
The Spurs play their home games at the AT&T Center. This venue opened in 2002, which makes it one of the newest arenas in the league. Due to its new age, many feel that it is the top arena in the NBA. Not only does the Spurs organization love the AT&T Center, but the fans love what it has to offer as well. And of course, the atmosphere inside the venue gives the Spurs a huge home court advantage.
The Spurs have won three NBA championships; 1999, 2003, and 2005. They also won conference titles in the same years as well as 15 division titles since being established. As you can see, the Spurs are clearly one of the best NBA franchises of all time.
