What to Expect at Weezer’s The Gathering Tour

Opening night of Weezer’s 2026 tour took place Tuesday night in Sacramento, CA, and attendees were treated to a 26-song set packed with fan favorites, deep cuts, and several songs that had not been performed live in years. Weezer’s The Gathering Tour is a 32-date North American arena tour running from September 8 through October 24. The tour kicked off at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento and will visit major cities, including San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, New York, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. The tour is scheduled to conclude at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on October 24.

Weezer Tour Setlist

Based on the opening-night performance in Sacramento, fans can expect The Gathering Tour to pull heavily from Weezer’s earlier albums while also incorporating music from the band’s recently released Gold Album. The Sacramento show featured six songs from both the 1994 Blue Album and 1996’s Pinkerton, while three songs came from the new album.

The opening-night setlist also featured several long-awaited live returns. “Keep Fishin’” was performed for the first time since 2018, “No Other One” received its first full-band performance since 2019, “Lonely Girl” returned for the first time since 2014, and “Slob” was played for the first time since 2005. “Aloo Gobi” also received its first full-band performance.

The set also included several special moments. Silversun Pickups bassist Nikki Monninger joined Weezer for “We Might as Well Be Strangers,” “Go Away,” and “I Just Threw Out the Love of My Dreams.” Rivers Cuomo played drums on “Pork and Beans,” while “Longtime Sunshine” and “In the Garage” were performed acoustically. The band also changed the lyrics to “El Scorcho” to reference a Deftones concert in Sacramento.

Tour Opening Acts

The Gathering Tour features The Shins and Silversun Pickups as supporting acts. Both bands performed before Weezer at the Sacramento opener, with Silversun Pickups taking the stage first and The Shins following.

Silversun Pickups performed songs including “Well Thought Out Twinkles,” “Panic Switch,” and “Lazy Eye,” while The Shins played a set featuring “Simple Song,” “Australia,” “Gone for Good,” “Heartworms,” “Caring Is Creepy,” “New Slang,” and “Sleeping Lessons.” The Shins’ Sacramento appearance marked the band’s first extended full-band show in four years.
