Die-hard Atlanta Falcons fans did die hard at last year’s Super Bowl, and if you bleed black and red, you’re probably still reeling from the improbable comeback the New England Patriots put on the Falcons. But hope springs eternal at the beginning of every season, and this year, not only can Falcons fans hope for your team to have another long playoff run, you can do it in a brand new, $1.6 billion home, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This state-of the-art facility will draw crowds by the carful. So where are the best places to park and how much is it going to cost? We’ve put together this handy guide with the must-know info for parking and transportation.

Keep in mind, it’s not just Falcons games that are going to be held in this impressive building with a retractable roof and PSLs that top out at $45,000. It will also be the home of the Atlanta United FC of Major League Soccer, with a regular season schedule that runs from May through October. Throw in some college football games including the Peach Bowl, some Super Bowls, March Madness tournament games, and a lot of concerts (starting with Garth Brooks beginning in October), and you have year-round mania. It’s going to be a busy place. You’ll need to plan your arrival to account for the traffic (and the costs) – not to mention the tailgating. Here are your best bets.

Taking Public Transportation to Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Want to avoid driving to the stadium and paying the parking fees? MARTA can get you there for only $2.50. The best station for arriving and departing is the GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station, which is right next to the stadium in the heart of downtown Atlanta. Or you can use a ridesharing service like Uber or Lyft that can take you there for a little more money.
