New York Comic Con 2026: First-Timer's Guide to NYCC's 20th Anniversary

Victoria Guerra | July 29, 2026

New York Comic Con takes over the Javits Center from October 8 to 11, 2026, and this year marks the convention's 20th anniversary. First-timers should expect big crowds, long panel lines, and a venue that takes some getting used to. This guide covers the venue layout, what's new for the anniversary year, the confirmed guest lineup, and how to spend your time on the show floor. Shop NYCC tickets at Event Tickets Center.

Welcome to the Javits Convention Center

The Javits Center hosts major trade shows most of the year, but every October it turns into a pop culture hub. The Main Stage and Empire Stage host the biggest panels and premieres, the Show Floor and Artist Alley sit on the lower levels, and smaller panel rooms are spread across the upper concourses.

Wear comfortable shoes. You'll cover serious ground moving between panel queues, the show floor, and photo-op areas, and the layout takes most first-timers a full day to get comfortable with.

What's Special About NYCC 2026?

For its 20th year, NYCC has partnered with Coney Island as the show's official theme. The partnership brings a boardwalk sensibility into the Javits Center, with anniversary merch built around vintage sideshow and amusement park design.

Applications for panel programming opened this year through July 10, which means the panel schedule was still filling out as this guide was published.

Featured Events Worth Your Time

The Coney Island theme runs through the Community Stage, which hosts sideshow-style programming throughout the weekend, building to the Cosplay Central Crown Championships on Saturday, October 10. Variety show performances with a Coney Island flavor are scheduled across all four days.

20th Anniversary Highlights at a Glance
  • Coney Island named as NYCC's official 20th anniversary theme
  • Anniversary merch featuring vintage boardwalk and sideshow design
  • Coney Island-inspired variety show performances all weekend
  • Cosplay Central Crown Championships: Saturday, October 10

Movies, TV, and Pop Culture Heavyweights

NYCC's 2026 guest list is deep on nostalgia. Star Wars brings both Hayden Christensen and Ian McDiarmid, while Jamie Campbell Bower joins from Stranger Things and Lena Headey from Game of Thrones. RoboCop's Peter Weller rounds out the sci-fi contingent.

Several cast reunions anchor the weekend. The Jurassic Park reunion brings together Ariana Richards, BD Wong, Joseph Mazzello, and Wayne Knight, while DC fans get a two-series crossover: the Smallville cast of Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum, Kristin Kreuk, and Erica Durance appears alongside the Superman & Lois cast of Tyler Hoechlin, Bitsie Tulloch, and Michael Cudlitz. Scream brings Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy, Skeet Ulrich, and original Ghostface actor Lee Waddell, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine sends Melissa Fumero and Joe Lo Truglio.

Nolan North, one of gaming's most recognizable voices, also joins the lineup.

Con-goers chasing puppetry history have something new to look for this year, too. NYCC has confirmed Jim Henson puppeteers Matt Vogel, Dave Goelz, and Bill Barretta, alongside puppet designer Bonnie Erickson, for anniversary-themed programming.

Exploring the Show Floor and Artist Alley

The Show Floor brings together major publishers and brands for booths and activations. Confirmed exhibitors include Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, HarperCollins, Penguin Random House, and Simon & Schuster, alongside Bandai, Crunchyroll, Magic: The Gathering, Nickelodeon, and Paramount+.

Artist Alley is where the comic side of NYCC lives. Frank Miller, Jim Lee, James Tynion IV, Stephanie Phillips, Nick Dragotta, and Scott Snyder are all confirmed, and authors Rick Riordan, Kami Garcia, and Becky Chambers round out the literary side of the show.
