How Metallica Fans in Vegas Can Score Free Merch (and Save Lives)
Metallica is taking over Las Vegas this fall and winter with its first-ever Sphere residency, but the concerts aren't the only reason Metallica fans will want to make the trip.
The band has teamed up with the American Red Cross for a Metallica-themed blood donation experience at Fashion Show Las Vegas. Fans who come out to donate can score a limited-edition Metallica T-shirt designed by artist Squindo, while supplies last, and they'll also have a chance to win a replica Lars Ulrich drum kit.
The blood drive runs throughout Metallica's Las Vegas residency, making it an easy addition to a weekend built around a Sphere show.
How to Get the Free Metallica T-Shirt
The Red Cross x Metallica Blood Donation Experience is open at Fashion Show Las Vegas from September 28, 2026, through March 19, 2027. The donation center is located on the mall's second level near Dillard's and is open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. Appointments are encouraged.
Fans who come out to give blood will receive a limited-edition Red Cross x Metallica T-shirt featuring artwork by Squindo, while supplies last. The Red Cross says donors who are deferred from donating will still receive the shirt, as long as they came out to the experience. Shirts are available in sizes S through 2XL.
But the merch is only part of the experience. The pop-up is filled with Metallica artwork and memorabilia, and donors can check out a replica of Lars Ulrich's TAMA drum kit. Everyone who donates is also automatically entered for a chance to win the drum kit.
Schedule a blood donation appointment through the American Red Cross.

Metallica Sphere Tickets
Metallica's Sphere residency is sold out on the primary market, so fans who still want to attend will need to look to the resale market. The residency sold quickly after tickets went on sale, and Metallica has previously warned fans about scammers targeting the high-demand shows.
That makes it especially important to pay attention to where you buy your tickets. Buying directly from an individual on social media, classified ads, or an unfamiliar third-party site can leave you with little recourse if the tickets are fake, invalid, never delivered, or otherwise don't work at the venue.
When buying resale tickets, look for a marketplace that provides clear buyer protections, secure checkout, customer support, and a guarantee covering problems with your order. Prices on the resale market can also be above the original ticket price, so check the total cost before completing your purchase.
Event Tickets Center protects Metallica ticket buyers with fraud prevention, customer support, and a 100% Buyer Guarantee. Event Tickets Center also uses vetted sellers and secure checkout to help protect transactions.

Make a Weekend Out of Metallica in Las Vegas
If you're already heading to Vegas for Metallica, you can turn a concert trip into a full Metallica weekend without spending the entire time at Sphere.
Give Blood
Start your trip by heading to the Red Cross x Metallica Blood Donation Experience at Fashion Show Las Vegas. The pop-up is open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., so it's particularly easy to work into a Thursday or Friday arrival. Appointments are encouraged.
You'll get the limited-edition T-shirt while supplies last, but more importantly, your donation can help patients who need blood. The partnership is part of Metallica's ongoing #BleedingMe campaign with the Red Cross.

Visit the Life Burns Faster Experience
Metallica is also bringing its pop-up shop and fan experience to the Summit Showroom at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, near the Bridge to Sphere.
The Life Burns Faster Experience features Metallica merchandise and fan-focused programming. During the opening weeks, it's scheduled to be open Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until after the show, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Metallica says the schedule will be updated as the residency continues.
Fans visiting during opening weekend can also catch live episodes of 'Tallica Talk with SiriusXM's Maximum Metallica hosts Spider-Dan and Steffan Chirazi from October 1-3.
Catch a Metallica Show at Sphere
Then, of course, there's the main event.
Metallica's Life Burns Faster residency brings the band to Sphere for 24 performances between October 2026 and March 2027. The No Repeat Weekend format gives fans another reason to stay for both shows when possible, with different setlists across the two performances.
So if you're planning a Metallica trip to Las Vegas, consider making it more than just a concert night: give blood, grab some Metallica merch, explore the Life Burns Faster Experience, and then head to Sphere for the show.
It's a pretty good way to spend a weekend in Vega, and the first stop can help someone who needs it.
