These Upcoming Tribute Shows Will Honor Dolly Parton

The world got a little less sparkly after the passing of country music legend Dolly Parton this week on August 25, 2026. If you wish to celebrate the life and music of Dolly Parton this year, here are a few live experiences to attend in her honor. From her upcoming tribute at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry to her Broadway musical, slated to open on what would have been her 81st birthday, these events will honor and remember a legend.

Grand Ole Opry Tribute Show

The Grand Ole Opry will honor Dolly during their live show on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Artists Carly Pearce, Channing Wilson, Belle Frantz, Kathy Mattea, Molly Tuttle, Dan Tyminski, T. Graham Brown, and the Opry Square Dancers are slated to perform in the venue’s typical concert format, where a variety of up-and-coming and established country artists perform short two-to-three-minute sets throughout the night.

A Tennessee native, Dolly Parton first performed on the Grand Ole Opry stage at just 13 years old in 1959. Expect poignant tributes and frequent covers throughout this bittersweet evening in the venue that helped Dolly become the icon she is today.

Dolly Parton’s Threads - My Songs in Symphony

Dolly Parton’s Threads is a collaborative project with orchestras worldwide. The concert, produced in part by Parton herself, features a repertoire of Dolly’s lifetime of music, with songs like “Jolene,” “Coat Of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You.” In between the live orchestral performances, Dolly Parton appears via video to lead the audience through her life and music through stories.

The show also features snippets of new original music written by Parton for her upcoming autobiographical musical. Witnessing this project, Dolly’s own production, is a perfect way to honor her memory.
