Kacey Musgraves Teases New Album: Is a 2026 Tour Coming?

Emma Hellmer | March 9, 2026

Kacey Musgraves fans have been anticipating this moment. With about two years separating most of her album drops, in 2026, two years after Deeper Well dropped, a pavlovian-like expectation has been building among fans. Finally, Musgraves has started teasing new music once again, leaving fans wondering: What’s coming?

As a huge Kacey Musgraves fan, I was starting to feel the itch again, refreshing her website, checking her Instagram, hoping for hints of a new album. When I noticed her profile picture change to a dramatic new photo in a white cowboy hat against a white background, alarm bells went off in my head that something new was coming. Her new Instagram bio, “Somewhere in the middle of nowhere,” was the first hint at her new album seemingly titled, Middle of Nowhere. We may not have new what was coming, but we die hards caught on.

Sure enough, today, the upcoming album is all but confirmed with heavy hints launched on social media as well as billboards throughout the United States. She first posted a TikTok last night around midnight with a snippet of her upcoming single, “Dry Spell.” The clip shows her walking away from the camera in silver pants.

Lyrics of “Dry Spell” go,

“Ain’t nobodies tool up in my shed,

Ain’t nobodies boots under by bed,

Ain’t nobodies car up in my drive, for a late night call, for a real good time.”

The TikTok ends with “Kacey Musgraves Middle of Nowhere” written against the screen.

Other album teasers have included billboards in cities like Nashville, New York, and Los Angeles. Billboards say “Dry Spell? Call For a Real Good Time 430-789-9797” and “Welcome to the Middle of Nowhere.”

The phone number leads to a dial tone followed by Musgraves saying “This is Kacey Musgraves, and you’ve reached the middle of nowhere. No service available. Please try again later or press one for a real good time.” Then, we get a few verses of a new song.

Lyrics in this teaser go,

“It’s been a real long, 335 days,

And last time, it wasn’t good anyway.

I’m so lonely, lonely with a capital ‘H’, if you know what I mean,

I’ve been sittin’ on my washing machine.”

Musgraves has also posted a large photo on her Instagram grid of a close-up torso wearing cow-print pants and a brown belt with a large silver belt buckle, inscribed with, “Middle of Nowhere.” Fans speculate this could be the album cover or other album art.

When will the new music drop and will it come with a tour announcement? There seems to be two annoucements coming. Her website now has a countdown timer to tomorrow, Tuesday March 10th, at 9:00 AM PST. Then, on Musgrave’s Instagram, she posted “Dry spell ends Wednesday.” Fans expect the release of “Dry Spell,” the first single album off Middle of Nowhere on one of these days. As for the other announcement, it could be an album confirmation, launch date, or tour announcement.

My prediction? A tour announcement is coming this week.

Even without a tour confirmation, you can grab tickets to see Musgraves at Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, where it’s now almost a sure thing you’ll get to hear new music along with old favorites.
