The Complete Guide to Stars on Ice: Alysa Liu on Tour
Alysa Liu is the breakout star of the 2026 Olympics. In combination with her immense talent, her unwavering positivity, unique personal style, and generosity towards her competitors have made her a mesmerizing figure to follow both on and off the ice.
The Comeback Queen
In the history of sports, has a player ever taken two years off before coming back to take home the gold on the Olympic stage? This is the incredible history of Alysa Liu. After retiring in 2022, she couldn’t stay away from the sport and resumed training her way.
Of her comeback, she told Cosmopolitan last month, “No one tells me what I’m gonna wear. No one tells me how my hair is gonna be. No ones gonna try to change me. I’m going to pick my own programs and skate the sessions I want to skate.”
Doing it her way paid off, as she won two gold medals in this year’s Winter Olympic Games and won the hearts of the world in the process.

Show Program
While we can’t be sure about the show program for the 2026 leg, in the 2025 leg of Stars on Ice, the program featured 12 songs in each act. Each act featured two full-cast performances, two group performances, and eight solos. Alysa Liu finished up the solos of the 2025 leg with a performance to "MacArthur Park."
Songs from the show have varied from pop songs like Chappell Roan’s "Hot to Go!" to rock anthems like "The Boys are Back in Town" and everything in between. Expect an artistic journey that defies genre.
When to Arrive
Arrive at Stars on Ice no later than 45 minutes before showtime to ensure you have enough time for parking, security, and finding your seat. There are also Stargazer passes available (purchased in addition to regular show tickets), which allow early access to the venue as the performers are warming up. Stargazer sessions begin 3.5 hours before showtime.
How Long is Stars on Ice?
The Stars on Ice show is about 2 and a half hours long and features a 15-20 minute intermission when fans can get up and stretch about halfway through the show.
What to Wear to Stars on Ice
Opt for something comfortable and layered. Some like to dress a little sharper, and younger kids may want to dress up to match the figure skaters. Whether you dress up or not, just make sure you’re wearing layers, as ice rinks have to keep temperatures cold for obvious reasons.
A good baseline is long pants, a long shirt, and a jacket. If you run cold or are sitting very close to the ice, wear an underlayer as well. The arena will be filled with people, which helps counteract the cold, so being able to take layers on and off is essential.
Where to Sit
The best seats for Stars on Ice are ice-level seats, which are also the most expensive. These seats give you a straight-on view of the stars, who are at times just feet away from you. Aside from level, the next consideration is whether you’re located in the center of the arena or towards the sides. Most fans say the central seats get a better, more inclusive view of the action.
