Little Feat was formed by singer/songwriter, guitarist and lead vocalist Lowell George and keyboardist Bill Payne in Los Angeles in 1969. The group enjoyed major success over the course of the next decade, releasing seven studio albums until creative differences lead to George disbanding them in 1979, shortly before his death. In 1987, the surviving members joined forces once more to reform Little Feat. They have since remained intermittently active to date. The band has endured its share of lineup changes over the years, however their music has consistently remained a unique blend of rock, blues, R&B, boogie, country, fold, funk, soul, and jazz. Their songs have been played and recorded by several prominent musicians over the years, including Garth Brooks, Bob Dylan, Emmylou Harris, Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, and Gregg Allman, to name just a few.
