Meet Vanessa Williams
Vanessa Williams is a singer, actress, and designer who first rose to fam as the first African American woman to receive the Miss America title in 1983. Williams went on to enjoy a wildly successful career as a singer and actress in the years that followed, releasing her debut studio album The Right Stuff in 1988. She has since released seven additional studio albums, and has appeared in several films and television shows including Desperate Housewives and Ugly Better, the latter of which earned her three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Support Actress in a Comedy Series.
