The Toronto Raptors compete in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. Although the team was just established in 1995, they have been working towards becoming a force in the NBA ever since. And even though they have not reached all of their goals, the Raptors are getting better year in and year out.

The Raptors play their home games at the Scotiabank Arena. This venue opened in 1999, and is one of the best in the NBA. And not only is this arena among the best in the league, but it is also one of the nicest in the entire country. Raptors fans love the great sightlines of the floor as well as the raucous atmosphere for every game.

Several great players have competed for the Raptors over the years. Some of the most well known names include Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Antonio Davis, Jalen Rose, and many more.

The Scotiabank Arena opened its doors to sporting events, concerts, and other shows in early 1999. Since then, hundreds of events have taken place inside.

To keep the Scotiabank Arena rocking at all times, there are four major tenants. They include the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL, the Toronto Raptors of the NBA, the Toronto Rock of the NLL, and the Toronto Phantoms of the AHL. It is safe to say that without the Scotiabank Arena that all of the sports teams would never be able to survive.

One of the biggest benefits of the Scotiabank Arena is the way that it can be converted to host a number of different events; hence the name multi purpose arena. For NBA games the Scotiabank Arena can seat almost 20,000 fans. For NHL games this decreases a bit to about 18,900 fans. Concerts are the same as basketball games, and there are even many theatre events that allow a little more than 5,000 spectators to pack the Scotiabank Arena.

And speaking of theatre concerts, the Scotiabank Arena has something special to offer. Within the larger Scotiabank Arena, the Best Buy Theatre is located inside. This theater is used for concerts and family shows among many other events.

During 2008 the Scotiabank Arena will undergo construction of the west side of the building. This will allow the Scotiabank Arena to be connected to the future Maple Leaf Development.

The Scotiabank Arena has a lot to offer spectators. In addition to modern amenities, the ACC brings in the best events year in and year out.
