Meet The Winery Dogs
The Winery Dogs is an American band formed in 2012. The band’s founders are all legends in their own right; Mike Portnoy was the drummer and co-founder of the amazing progressive/metal band Dream Theatre, Billy Sheehan was the bassist for superstar acts like Steve Vai and David Lee Roth, and Richie Kotzen performed with chart-toppers Mr. Big and Poison before opening Headroom-Inc studio in Los Angeles in 2002.
The band, while members come from a more metal and modern rock background, lean towards classic rock stylings. They cite their influences to be bands in the Led Zeppelin/Jimi Hendrix field of artists, but still delve into more modern song architecture along the lines of Lenny Kravitz and Alice In Chains. The band certainly lives up to their “supergroup” description.
