Meet The Strokes
Indie/garage rockers The Strokes emerged from New York City in 1998, releasing their landmark debut album Is This It in 2001. The album was met with widespread critical acclaim, putting the band (who at the time were barely into their 20s) on the map. Is This It helped usher in the garage rock revival of the early 21st century, ranking at number eight on Rolling stone's 100 Best Debut Albums of Alll Time and number two on their 100 Best Albums of the '00s. The band's early success would serve as a sign of things to come over the course of their career. They have released four additional studio albums to date, including Room on Fire (2003), First Impressions of Earth (2006), Angles (2011), and Comedown Machine (2013).
