The Stafford Palace Theater, located in Stafford Springs, Connecticut, is a historic theater that has been bringing residents of the small town together for generations. Built in 1915 by a local contractor, Charles Eddy, and longtime resident Frances Parks Sprout, it was originally used as an opera house. For many years after, it served as home to numerous Broadway plays and theatrical productions until its closure in 1981. In 2003 the theater reopened to become what it is today—a widely popular movie theater and special event venue now showing classic films on Friday and Saturday nights.

The theater still retains its exquisite old-world charm with high ceilings, grand arches, and period furnishings that harken back to the days of live entertainment that were once commonplace in small towns throughout America. Its illustrious past and modern amenities will be sure to impress all who enter its walls at any given time.

Stafford Springs is home to plenty of attractions, such as delicious ice cream shops, antique stores, and galleries, as well as festivals, historic sites, and great restaurants. There are also hidden gems in Stafford Springs State Park, the Indian River Wildlife Management Area, bridges crossing old and new sections of town, and biking trails along Route 519 for plenty of outdoor recreation.

The Stafford Palace Theater is a unique and historic venue worthy of a visit. Its restoration to its former glory adds to its charm and makes it an ideal location for any live music or vaudeville events. Be sure to check out the Stafford Palace Theater for an unforgettable experience!
