The Scottrade Center is located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, and is used for a number of different events on a regular basis. This arena was built in 1994 in order to accommodate the expanding needs of the city, and to also generate more cash flow. In the past this venue has also been known as the Savvis Center and the Kiel Center. But no matter what you call this venue it surely has a lot to offer. This is why it plays host of many concerts, shows, special events, and sporting events each year.
There are two primary tenants of the Scottrade Center. They include the St. Louis Blues of the NHL, and the Saint Louis University basketball teams of the NCAA Division I. But even when these teams are not occupying the floor there are other events picking up the slack. They include other sporting events such as basketball games, family shows, ice spectaculars, professional wrestling, and trade shows.
The Scottrade Center hosts approximately 175 events each year, and all in all they draw a total of more than two million spectators. This makes the Scottrade Center one of the more active arenas in the country.
As far as hockey games are concerned, the Scottrade Center is among the best of the best. Year in and year out it is voted to have among the best quality ice in the league. In fact, it was rated number two in the NHL. In addition to the quality of the ice, opposing teams have a difficult time playing in the Scottrade Center thanks to all of the noise that it holds in. This is surely an advantage for the home team.
With so much to offer it is easy to see why the Scottrade Center draws in more than two million guests per year.
