Sanford Stadium is located in Athens, Georgia on the campus of the University of Georgia. For many years Sanford Stadium has been hosting football games, and it does not appear that this is going to change anytime in the near future.
Sanford Stadium is named after former university president, Dr. Steadman Vincent Sanford. Although Sanford was affiliated with the school in the early 1900's, his hard work will always be remembered. One of the most unique features of Sanford Stadium is the hedges that surround the field.
The current seating capacity of Sanford Stadium is 92,746. As you can imagine, this makes it one of the largest venues in the country. Since opening in 1929, Sanford Stadium has undergone several renovations. But with that being said, the university has been praised for making sure that updates fit in with the original look and feel of the stadium.
All in all, Sanford Stadium has a lot to offer. Its old age gives it a rich history, but newer updates make sure that it suits the needs of both players and fans.
