Ravinia Pavilion - Highland Park, IL (20 Upcoming Events)

Nestled in a 360-acre property in the Highland Park area of Chicago, Ravinia Pavilion has been hosting musical events and concerts for more than 100 years. It was created in 1904 as an amusement park but has evolved into a popular music venue. The original pavilion burned down in 1949, but a new pavilion was built that doubled its capacity.

During Chicago’s three-month summer concert season, Ravinia Park draws in about 600,000 listeners to some 120 to 150 musical events ranging from musical theater and jazz to classical music, pop, rock, blues, country, kids’ concerts, and Chicago Symphony Orchestra performances.

Aside from the 3,400-seat open-air covered pavilion, Ravinia boasts an expansive lawn where listeners can enjoy a picnic before or during musical events. The stage is not within view of the lawn, but the concerts are broadcast to the lawn via a state-of-the-art sound system, and a large video screen is also available at select events. Visitors can bring their own lawn chairs or rent them at the Pavilion.

Ravinia Pavilion is easily accessible via public transportation, with the Union Pacific North Metra Line stopping right in front of the venue. For drivers, the main parking area is located at 200 Ravinia Park Road, and it can accommodate a total of 1,800 cars. The lot opens one hour prior to the park opening time, which varies depending on the event.

You may visit Ravinia Pavilion at any time of the year, however, it is best visited during summer when there are scheduled events catering to music fans. There are three gift shops located in the park, and a number of food options. There are many hotels located nearby.

Ravinia Pavilion is a mecca for music lovers from all over the world. Purchase the tickets you need to attend events at Ravinia Pavilion at Event Tickets Center.
