Provost Umphrey Stadium is located on the campus of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. It is a 16,000-seat multi-purpose stadium, with great sightlines and a full PA system – perfect for sports events and entertaining shows. The stadium opened in 1951 and has a seating capacity of over 20,000. It is home to the Lamar University Cardinals football team and has hosted numerous college football games and high school games over the decades. It was also a backdrop for the filming of "Friday Night Lights" in 2004.
