Meet Ozzy Osbourne

Dubbed the “Godfather of Heavy Metal,” Ozzy Osbourne rose to fame during the 1970s as the front man for the legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Fired from the band in 1979, Osbourne embarked on a solo career achieving international fame and releasing eleven studio albums, the first seven of which earned multi-platinum certifications. Over the course of his 50+ year career, Osbourne has established himself as a pop culture icon and a symbol of the metal lifestyle. Although he left the band in 1979, Osbourne has since reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions over the years. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the group in 2006. In the early 2000s, Ozzy cemented his status as a household name when he became a reality tv star alongside his family on the MTV show The Osbournes (2002-2005). He currently co-stars with his kids Jack and Kelly on the series Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour. Osbourne is known for his distinct vocals and dramatic flair, making him one of the greatest showmen to ever hit the stage. Despite his bad-boy reputation and controversial past, he has had an immeasurable effect on heavy metal, influencing decades worth of rising artists around the world.
