Venues By State And City

Just as every state is known for its unique landscapes, traditions and cuisines, each one boasts event venues that you won't find anywhere else. From scenic outdoor spots and sprawling stadiums to intimate theaters and music halls, there's a venue for every type of viewer.

Sometimes the best performances take place in tiny, hole-in-the-wall places, but it's hard to beat the experience of attending a show at one of the top venues in America. When it comes to New York events, Madison Square Garden hosted some of the biggest names in entertainment, and Radio City Music Hall is one of the most recognizable places in showbiz. In Washington, D.C., the 9:30 Club is one an iconic rock clubs, while in Washington state, the Gorge seats 20,000 and offers breathtaking views of the Columbia River.

Some of the most famous concerts in L.A. have taken place at the Troubadour, a storied nightclub that's hosted the likes of Elton John, Neil Young and James Taylor. In Tennessee, Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium has welcomed a who's who of country stars, while the Continental Club in Austin has been a big name in Texas music since opening in the 1950s.

Weather permitting, outdoor event venues can make for some truly memorable experiences. Surrounded by dramatic rock outcroppings, Red Rocks Amphitheatre near Denver, Colorado is arguably one of the most striking outdoor concert venues in the world. The Frank Gehry-designed Jay Pritzker Pavilion is a feat of engineering in Chicago's Millennium Park that offers views of the city skyline, and Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland (also designed by Gehry) is surrounded by lush woodlands. In California, the Greek Theatre in Berkeley and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles have both been entertaining audiences under the stars since the early 20th century.

When browsing upcoming events, restricting your search to venues near you can mean missing out on an incredible experience. If you have the time and transportation options, consider widening your range to other areas in your state, and maybe even surrounding states, to find the greatest selection of event tickets.
