Louis Armstrong Stadium - US Open - NY

Louis Armstrong Stadium is used as the second venue for the annual tennis U.S. Open. It is located in the Queens area of New York City, New York. This venue was named after the famous jazz musician, Louis Armstrong.

At its peak, Louis Armstrong Stadium could accommodate approximately 18,000 fans. Now that it is the secondary stadium for the U.S. Open, the venue does not need to hold nearly as many fans. In 1997, Louis Armstrong Stadium was renovated and the seating capacity was reduced to 10,000. Additionally, a brick facade was added so that Louis Armstrong Stadium matched the number one venue, Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Since 1977, Louis Armstrong Stadium has been a big part of the tennis world. Although it is no longer as popular as it once was, it is safe to say that Louis Armstrong Stadium will always have quite a bit to offer both players and spectators.
