Meet Judas Priest

Judas Priest is a Grammy Award-winning English heavy metal band that is commonly known as one of the greatest of all time. Formed in 1969 in Birmingham, the band spent the 1970s releasing music and working on their sound, repeatedly changing drummers. It wasn’t until the release of the 1980 album, British Steel, that the band achieved their big break.

Judas Priest followed the success of this album with 1982’s Screaming for Vengeance, which featured radio hits such as “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’” and “Electric Eye.” In 1992, lead singer Rob Halford left the band, replaced by Tim “Ripper” Owens. During the Ripper years, the band released two albums that earned mixed reviews.

In 2003, Judas Priest and Rob Halford announced they would be reuniting after eleven years. Since then, the band has continued to release new music and achieve more success, being nominated for the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
