Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a musical collaboration by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, originally written and based on the Hebrew bible’s synonymous ‘coat of many colors’ that was worn by Joseph and the story that surrounds the coat and Israel’s favorite son. The performance has no spoken dialogue; all words and lines are incorporated into songs and lyrics. The production first premiered on London’s West End in the early 1970’s, and then made its Broadway debut almost a decade later. Both Broadway and the West End have hosted revivals, and the beloved family musical with universal themes has been presented across multiple stretches of the world.
