Meet Jay Park
Jay Park is a Korean American singer/songwriter, rapper, producer, and actor who got his start as a b-boy dancer in 2008. Park rose to prominence as the leader of South Korean boy band 2PM, officially leaving the group in 2010 and pursuing a solo career. Park uploaded a cover video of B.o.B's hit "Nothin' On You," rapping his own lyrics on YouTube. The video became a viral success, garnering over 200,000 views in less than 24 hours, leading to the release of his debut EP Count on Me in the summer of 2010. The album debuted at number one on the Gaon chart. Hi first mini album, Take a Deeper Look, arrived one year later, achieving multi-platinum status in South Korea. His first full-length album New Breed hit shelves in February 2012, quickly topping international charts and going multi-platinum in less than a week. Park has since released three additional studio albums, with his fifth album, The Road Less Traveled, dropped in June of 2019. The record will mark his first English language album. Park is a member of the Seatlle-based b-boy crew Art of Movement, and founder and CEO of the independent hip-hop record labels AOMG and H1gher Music.
