Gregg Allman is a folk rock musician and singer/songwriter originally from Nashville, Tennessee. Allman rose to fame as a member of Macon, Georgia’s famed Allman Brothers Band, which was an extremely successful collaboration between him and his brother, Duane Allman. The Allman Brothers Band is one of the most iconic and successful blues rock groups in history. Together the group released several commercially successful albums, considered to be their artistic breakthrough, and the sound was one of a kind with unique guitar riffs and their use of soulful vocal harmonies. After the tragic motorcycle death of Duane Allman, Gregg Allman continued writing and performing as a solo artist. Greg Allman has won multiple Grammy awards and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
