Lightfoot was somewhat of a childhood prodigy, as his talents have been developing since he was just nine years old. He rose to fame in the 1960s while embarking on a large Canadian tour. His talent was quickly recognized beyond the Canadian borders, throughout Europe and the United States, sparking an international tour. Lightfoot has recorded over twenty successful albums over the course of his long lived, prolific career has won an impressive sixteen Juno Awards. He continues to hold an influential role among folk rock musicians of the past and present.
