Meet Ghost - The Band
Ghost is a Swedish rock band that originated in Sweden. Formed in 2006, they released their debut album Opus Eponymous in 2010, which received a Grammis (Swedish equivalent of a Grammy) Award nomination and gained them widespread popularity. Their second album, Infestissumam, dropped in 2013 and debuted at number one in Sweden and won the Grammis Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Album. Their international breakthrough came with the release of their third album, 2015's Meliora, which reached number one in Sweden and number eight in the U.S. The album's lead single “Cirice” earned Ghost the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Their fourth and latest project, Prequelle, was released in June 2018. Ghost is well known for their eccentric on-stage presence and the anonymity of five of its six members who are referred to as the “Nameless Ghouls.” The band is fronted by its founder, Tobias Forge, who portrays a persona by the name of Cardinal Copia. Prior to a 2017 lawsuit, Forge concealed his identity as well, hiding behind his onstage demonic-pope persona Papa Emeritus.
