Genesee Theatre is located in Waukegan, Illinois. This concert hall opened in 1927, and has hosted thousands of events since then. Even though Genesee Theatre is older than many of its competitors, its age is one of the main drawing points.
In 1989, Genesee Theatre closed its doors. But by 2004, it was evident that the venue was being missed. At this time, a $23 million renovation took place, and the venue reopened to the public. Over the years, many great musical acts and performers have taken the stage at Genesee Theatre. Some of the most notable include: Bill Cosby, Jack Benny, and Ringo Starr.
With a location of only 40 miles from Chicago, Genesee Theatre attracts people from the city as well as other outlying areas. With a newly updated look and the ability to attract top talent, there is no wondering why Genesee Theatre has once again risen in popularity.
